Monday Wk 2 – Survey and exploring everyones design

Looking at everyone’s sketches we further developed our concept, with this we moved away from the theme of a jukebox to have more focus on the map of the installation. We then began to think about how the users would interact with the installation. Would there main source of interaction would be with buttons, sensors, levers etc.

Through brainstorming we came up with the idea of having the design of our installation to be inspired from an old retro dailer phone. Having the users interact with the installation through moving the dailer to get the different sounds from the different areas.

To get information on hidden gems or authentic places of Enschede from locals and people who have been here for a short period of time that they like to do and see in there free time, Jan created a survey that was sent around to people. With this we got a range of places to think about including in our map. Along with this Jan and Kai went out to the streets in Enschede to collect more information from passerbys. Asking the questions about there favourite places. With information from the both the passerbys and survey we started to form a list of gems of Enschede, splitting it into five sections.
