After discussing my first sketches with the group and various teachers I started with creating a more detailed construction sketch. I chose to draw a cross section of the installation with all the measurements included so that we would have an idea of the materials that we would need to construct the installation. I have been working on a list that contains all the material we will need to buy in order to realise the construction but in order to do so I will need these detailed sketches.
Cedric designed a paper prototype based on these sketches. he found out that the PVC tubes do not necessarily have to go all the way around the table. This would save a lot of materials and thus money which makes this an excellent discovery. I have Implemented this in my newer construction drawings.
The construction drawings that I make are constantly being changed and updated since everytime we work something out we stumble upon a new problem or idea that needs attention. This makes drawing these sketches a lengthy job with many iterations. This however is a good thing since it helps us to constantly implement and test new ideas and thus aids us in finding the perfect design.
