Construction drawing pt 4

After doing some more thinking we made a few extra iterations on the design. We also had to scale it down since the table we use was 81cm in diameter instead of 1 meter, this meant that some of the parts had to be remeasured and refitted but the general design of the installation was not changed. The sketches below here are not as flashy as the first construction drawings but they do have all the correct measurements and layouts. I used these drawings as a final basis for ordering the materials.

The first thing that changed was, of course, the sizes of the installation. I recalculated the size of the ring and stage whilst adding space for the sensors as well. Then I came up with the final height of the support blocks and the stage.

Then we decided to swap the PVC tubes for 6 ball bearings spread out like 2 triangles for maximum balance and support. The bearings will make the installation turn way smoother then PVC pipes could ever have managed.

Then there are the 3 spots on the side of the installation that keep the ring on top in place. when placed in a triangle they provide maximum support and minimal friction.

When I was done with these final drawings I could finally order the woodwork. This means that we can finally get started with the construction of the installation.
