What to test on:
- Interaction: Is the interaction smooth and intuitive?
- Experience: How do users react to the installation? Is their experience valuable?
- usefulness: Does the installation benefit the user?
- Goals: Does interaction with the installation help to reach our goals?
- Data collection: How are we able to extract useful information from the installation?
Interaction: One way to test the interaction is to have people use our prototype in a test setting and see how people use it. I would like to note down how many steps it takes someone to interact with it. I would like to see how long it takes someone to use the installation. Do people interact in the way I expected them to or do they need some help?
Experience: We could note down their facial expressions using the dimensional arousal chart. To map the way people feel about the installation.
Afterwards, we will ask the test user to describe their experience and rate it for us on a scale from one to ten.
usefulness: this one is a bit trickier than the other ones, we can ask if the test users are interested in using our installation in the future and what they would like to have added.
Goals: Our goal is to entertain people that want something different from the city. Our challenge is to excite people into visiting the places that make Enschede unique and thus providing them with an enhanced experience.
Data collection: For now we gather data by having people fill out some questions once they have reached their destination. Besides that, we will have to come up with some more interesting and intuitive ways to collect data.
setup: The first prototype with a laptop that plays music when people turn the ring. I switch the soundboards.
I ask the people if they would like to choose a restaurant and to choose it, then I have them interact with the prototype. then they can fill in a short form, this hopefully takes less than 5 minutes
After doing some more research and applying even more ittereations and improvements to my eralier scetches, rhe final design is finally ready. They are not as good looking as the first ones but do contain all the sizes and details that we need in order to make the installation work.
